New bridge is a big deal

Work has started to build a bridge over the Erewash Canal in Long Eaton which will be a vital link for residents of the town. The Britannia Mills bridge, which is near Bennett Street, is one of the Government funded Long Eaton Town Deal projects. Two borough sites listed as county council invests £4.5m in Derbyshire schools

Two schools in Erewash have been included in a list of schools across Derbyshire which are set to receive a share of £4.5m towards the cost of creating more space and making the learning environment better for students. Forth bridge firm builds new crossing over canal

A firm that makes bridges and whose experts help to maintain one of the UK’s most iconic crossings has begun factory construction of a new link that will span the Erewash Canal – as part of Long Eaton’s £25million Town Deal. A local developer has stepped in to help restore a Long Eaton landmark after submitting an application for planning permission. ALB Group purchased Bridge Mills in Derby Road, Long Eaton in 2021 with a view to transforming the three-storey, former lace factory into residential development. Storm Goretti impacts on CrossCountry services in and around Erewash

CrossCountry trains Service Delivery Director Nick Westcott, has issued a statement after the CrossCountry network was severely impacted by Storm Goretti with several routes not in operation this morning. Local Air Ambulance charity opens new shop in Long Eaton

In 2025, the Your Air Ambulance charity flew almost 1,000 missions in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, providing care from the air to those who need help in the fastest time possible.
