Pete Pheasant is used to writing stories about other people winning awards but recently, he became a recipient of an award himself. The retired journalist has been named volunteer of the Year by Erewash Voluntary Action. Long Eaton man jailed after vehicle stop, pursuit and criminal damage

A Long Eaton man has been jailed after what turned out to be a complex incident in the town centre earlier this year. On 17th February 2026, police officers from the Derbyshire Constabulary Proactive Team and local Safer Neighbourhood Team attempted to stop a vehicle being driven by David Robinson. Local families affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND) are finding vital support, connection and comfort at Mollie;s – a dedicated group based in Risley.
