New PC for Long Eaton SNT

Derbyshire Constabulary has announced the appointment of a new PC for the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team. PC Paul Sheldon will serve in the Long Eaton Rural District which includes Breaston, Borrowash, Draycott, Ockbrook, Risley and Stanton by Dale. A police officer for over 10 years, he has carried out most of his work so far in Derby, as a response officer before joining Erewash SNT in March this year. Erewash Police Officers focus on knife crime as part of Operation Sceptre

The week commencing 18th May 2026 has seen an intensification of Derbyshire Constabulary's knife crime initiative called 'Operation Sceptre', with a range of activities being carried out in and around Erewash. Mayor’s 3-wheel tour is boost no.2 for Scouts

A mad-cap three-wheel charity stunt by Erewash’s Mayor has given a second boost to the thriving local Scouts movement – hot on the heels of a council grant making a “massive difference” for hundreds of the organisation’s big-hearted and adventurous youngsters. Eurovision artwork king sets sights on Erewash

A highly acclaimed artist famed for his large-scale Merseyside mural celebrating Eurovision has been sizing up walls in Erewash – after being commissioned by the council to bring his inspirational magic to three sites in the borough. Money for massive Derby train station improvements

Millions of pounds have been allocated to help “kickstart” big plans to transform the area surrounding Derby railway station. A new report says investment of £3.5m has been allocated to Derby on city centre projects, including an “initial focus” on developing its plans for the “Station Quarter”. Crime prevention advice issued after keyless car thefts

Derbyshire Police officers have issued crime prevention advice to motorists after a series of keyless car thefts in South Derbyshire, one affecting the Erewash borough. Investigations are underway after four suspected ‘relay theft’ incidents in which Kia vehicles have been targeted over several days.
