The retired journalist has been named volunteer of the Year by Erewash Voluntary Action. Long Eaton man jailed after vehicle stop, pursuit and criminal damage

A Long Eaton man has been jailed after what turned out to be a complex incident in the town centre earlier this year. On 17th February 2026, police officers from the Derbyshire Constabulary Proactive Team and local Safer Neighbourhood Team attempted to stop a vehicle being driven by David Robinson. Eight Derbyshire council-run care homes have now been emptied and closed, with remaining residents moved elsewhere, after planned sales to a sole provider failed late last year.
