A sixth-generation Derbyshire farming family faces the prospect of having to sell dozens of cattle amid the fallout over a new “nature haven” in the area. Vehicles seized as part of ‘Operation Drive Insured’

Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team officers have taken part in a county wide operation to target drivers using vehicles without insurance. A new beauty spot is to be created by Erewash Borough Council on grassland it owns – with the potential for it to be turned into a wood that would be a haven for wildlife. The dawn of a new era for scouting in Sawley and Long Eaton is to be marked with a groundbreaking ceremony in February. A man has been jailed after being caught in possession of a knife. After a 999 call was made to Police detailing the matter on a local bus in Sawley, local Safer Neighbourhood Team officers responded immediately, making their way to Tamworth Road.
