08/09/2022: A Sawley scout group will be able to access funding thanks to a new 25 year lease granted by Erewash Borough Council’s Executive on 6th September.
07/09/2022: A wide range of community groups, clubs, local charities, and non-profit organisations have had a cash boost thanks to the Derbyshire Grants scheme since it was launched by Derbyshire County Council back in January.

13/05/2022: The new Mayor of Erewash is Councillor John Sewell, who was formally elected to the role for the 2022/2023 civic year at Erewash Borough Council’s annual meeting on Thursday evening (12th May).
27/07/2021: St Mary's Church in Sawley is now open at 9am each Sunday for Holy Communion, whilst All Saints’ Church in Sawley is now open every Sunday for morning worship at 10.30am with communion on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.

26/06/2021: Long Eaton Sea Cadets are looking for new members aged 10 to 12.  The group is involved in a varety of exciting activities including Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths and also stage water based activities such as kayaking, rowing and sailing.
22/06/2021: Based at Sawley Baptist Church on Wilne Road, Sawley Youth Club is held on Mondays from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and is open to those aged 9 to 14 years..
