07/09/2022: A wide range of community groups, clubs, local charities, and non-profit organisations have had a cash boost thanks to the Derbyshire Grants scheme since it was launched by Derbyshire County Council back in January.

14/06/2022: The Friends of Straw's Bridge, West Hallam are looking for new recruits to join the group.
06/06/2022: Cyclists of all abilities are welcome to attend weekly social bike rides through the borough. The route is a 10 mile flat ride perfect for admiring the local blooms and wildlife, starting and ending at the Straw’s Bridge Local Nature Reserve in West Hallam, Ilkeston. Everybody can join in for some gentle exercise every Monday from approximately 6.45pm to 8.30pm. 
06/05/2022: Derbyshire County Council Cabinet has agreed to permanently close seven Derbyshire County Council care homes including two in Erewash, which require major refurbishment to bring them up to modern care standards.

Rural Action Derbyshire
08/02/2021: Over 500 halls in England have contributed to the unique record so far, detailing their response to the pandemic and hopes for the future.  In Derbyshire 14 halls have signed and Rural Action Derbyshire is keen to encourage as many halls as possible to participate.
06/02/2010: Dell Badminton Club is seeking new members. The group meets every Wednesday at West Hallam Community Centre, Station Road, from 8:00pm-10:00pm. For more details, contact club secretary Sue Selby on 0115 930 6742 or just turn up on a Wednesday.
