Rolls-Royce signs agreements for UK advanced nuclear technologies

Rolls-Royce has announced it has signed two trilateral agreements to accelerate the introduction of advanced nuclear technologies in the UK. The engineering giant has signed Memorandums of Cooperation with the United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory (UKNNL) and Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA). The three parties will cooperate to advance High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Advanced Modular Reactor (AMR) technology and the next generation Coated Particle Fuel (CPF) that powers them. PCC secures £400k boost to strengthen the fight against knife crime in Derby

Almost £400k of extra funding will be invested in intensive and targeted policing in Derbyshire to combat knife crime. Alstom shows commitment to UK supply chain with over £720m spend

Train-maker Alstom has revealed it spent more than £720 million over the past year with UK suppliers. The firm, which has its Litchurch Lane Works in Derby, said it bought from almost 1,300 British-based suppliers over the last 12 months, supporting 11,000 jobs in the process.
