Arrests made following raids on businesses in Nottingham under people smuggling investigation

Two men have been arrested following a series of raids by the National Crime Agency in Kent and the East Midlands, as part of an investigation into a criminal network suspected of smuggling people into the UK in boats. £145k ancient woodland damage

Police are investigating after protected trees were chopped down in an ancient Derby woodland. Earlier this month it was reported how “youths” damaged and chopped down trees,  which dated back to the 1600s, to make dens at the Chaddesden Wood nature reserve.
