Reporter says hazardous borough pavement cannot be navigated without users fearing for their lives

By Eddie Bisknell - Local Democracy Reporting Service There is a pavement in Derbyshire which I challenge anyone to walk along without fearing for their lives or taking a wing mirror to the head. The 400-metre stretch of Ilkeston Road from the Sowbrook Lane junction, between Ilkeston and Stanton by Dale, does have an accompanying pavement for pedestrians on its eastern side, but walking this route you would struggle to see it carry out its intended function. Ay Up Duck – Kids Food Allergy Support – Ilkeston

Ruth Ann used to dread that little party invite in her daughter Aira's bag.  She has multiple severe food allergies, and, every invite meant she couldn't just send her along like other children. She would be making a separate birthday cake, preparing all her own food, and packing EpiPens, antihistamines and wipes just to get through a couple of hours. Whilst the other children were dancing around with food in their hands, Ruth Ann would be running around like a […]
