In a bid to tackle obesity, the NHS has teamed up with online weight loss platform, GetSlim, to provide weight loss programmes for a £1 a week.
St Mary's Church in Sawley is now open at 9am each Sunday for Holy Communion, whilst All Saints’ Church in Sawley is now open every Sunday for morning worship at 10.30am with communion on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.

Free 5k timed run organised each week by a team of volunteers at West Park in Long Eaton (meeting by the Rugby Club) and Shipley Country Park (meeting near the visitors centre)
The Friends of Bennerley Viaduct Group now has over 400 members with their support seen as invaluable in so many ways.   The members not only provide the group and the project with valuable funds that enable work to be carried out, they also lend authority and influence when seeking to raise further funding for the project. 
Long Eaton Sea Cadets are looking for new members aged 10 to 12.  The group is involved in a varety of exciting activities including Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths and also stage water based activities such as kayaking, rowing and sailing.
