People across Derbyshire are being encouraged to consider becoming a foster carer.
Signs warning of an outbreak of bird flu at an Erewash nature reserve have gone up across the area.
An outbreak of Avian Flu has been confirmed at Straw’s Bridge Local Nature Reserve in West Hallam following the deaths of several wild birds at the site.

Residents of Stanley Common are getting together to make bunting and decorations for local Jubilee celebrations and having a crafty cuppa at the same time on Sunday 3rd April at the Eventide Hall from 1:00pm. There is no need to bring anything  to get involved and the refreshments will be provided. Also, on Good Friday 15th April, an Easter Fayre will be held at the Top Club, Belper Road, Stanley Common from 11am to 2pm including a variety of stalls, there will also be a raffle and Easter Egg hunt.  All are welcome!

Derbyshire residents are to be asked for their views on plans to change support to help more people lead safe, independent lives in their own homes for longer.
Derbyshire County Council Cabinet members, working closely with the Police and Crime Commissioner Angelique Foster, have brought forward an important new initiative to promote the use of Speed Indicator Devices on Derbyshire’s roads, which will make this type of vehicle-activated sign more accessible to parishes and community groups

As more than 4,600 people, including 79 patients in Derbyshire, wait for a kidney transplant, and with this figure expected to rise, NHS Blood and Transplant is calling on everyone in Derbyshire to share their organ donation decision and also take a moment to consider living kidney donation to coincide with World Kidney Day (Thursday 10th March 2022).
- West Park, Long Eaton and Shipley Country Park
Park Run - a free 5k timed run organised each week by a team of volunteers - is staged at West Park in Long Eaton (meeting by the Rugby Club) and Shipley Country Park (meeting near the visitors centre)
- Kirk Hallam Community Centre on Kenilworth Drive
Tea, Laughter and Cake (TLC) is a friendly group open to everyone on Monday afternoons from 1pm to 3pm at the Kirk Hallam Community Centre on Kenilworth Drive in Kirk Hallam.  Come along for a chat and a giggle - as well as free cakes!
