Erewash residents struggling to sign up online for the £20 early bird deal for new brown bin charges can visit their local town hall for help logging on at public computers there.
A Nottingham-based music and wellbeing project has been awarded further funding to allow them to expand to work with young people and partner organisations further afield.

The Derbyshire Wildlife Trust has reacted over what is describes as a 'u-turn' over plans for a new nature reserve on the site of the now closed Pewit Golf Course in Ilkeston, which would have allowed residents to enjoy it in perpetuity.
Local residents and businesses flooded in Derbyshire during Storm Babet can now apply for grants of up to £5,000 to help protect their property from further flooding in the future.
Rural Action Derbyshire
Have you got an old/unused laptop or tablet you could donate to a Derbyshire charity? Rural Action Derbyshire has teamed up with PCrefurb, to pilot a scheme to refurbish donated devices to then get them out to people who would otherwise be digitally excluded. 
- Erewash Indoor Bowls Club, Station Road, Long Eaton
Members of a chess club gather at the Erewash Indoor Bowls Club off Station Road in Long Eaton every Monday night between 6pm and 8pm. The aim is to help people to learn or improve their game of chess. With sufficient members, the hope is that competitions can then be started.  The first session is free. Some of the Erewash Sound presenters will, at the second attempt, be walking from Ilkeston to Long Eaton to raise money for your local radio station!   The team had originally planned to put their best feet forward on 23rd December, but circumstances beyond their control meant the event had to be rearranged.
