The CharityHome-Start is a voluntary organisation that supports parents of young children experiencing challenging difficulties. The charity began in 1973 and now there are 288 schemes supporting local communities, plus, schemes in 22 countries around the world from Norway to Sri Lanka. Although Home-Start UK provides structure and research, each scheme is self-funded and responds to the need in their local community. Home-Start Erewash has been supporting local families for 27 years.
Officials at local bus company trentbarton have expressed excitement that a popular service will extend to serve East Midlands Airport.
The 21st Ilkeston Scout Group and are based at the Kirk-Hallam Community Hall.   Three sections are run by the Group: Beavers: Ages 6 to 8 – Thursday 6:00 until 7:00 Cubs: Ages 8 to 10.5 – Monday 6:15 until 7:45 Scouts: Ages 10.5 to 14 – Thursday 7:30 until 9:30
Paintings by the late Ilkeston artist Rick Scollins have been donated to Erewash Museum to mark the 25th anniversary of his death.
