Welcome to Sole Mates – a walking group in and around the Ilkeston area

‘Sole Mates’ is a walking group covering Ilkeston and the surrounding area, which boasts several hundred members and amassed 550 within a month and a half of start up.

Group walking activities benefit people struggling with their mental health, who want to exercise more or just those who enjoy walking.

Led by Laura Elvey and Liam Robinson along with Ashley Johnson, this friendly walking group is all about connection, well-being, and fresh air.

Whether you’re looking to boost your mental health, ease feelings of loneliness, meet new friends, or simply enjoy the joy of walking, you’ll find a supportive community truly believing in the fact that every step counts—not just for fitness, but for feeling good inside and out.

All paces welcome. Friendly chats are on offer during walks, or, if you prefer, quiet time if you prefer. Walks cover relaxing routes in nature, and offer a safe, judgement-free space.
