Detectives have been given more time to question a man after pedestrians were struck by a car in Derby on Saturday evening. The man, who is 36 and from Derby, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder minutes after the incident happened. Derbyshire Police give update on man arrested following Derby incident

The man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the incident in Derby city centre on Saturday evening remains in police custody. Detectives are continuing their inquiries having been granted an extension to the time that the man arrested can be held for. The vehicle, a black Suzuki Swift, struck a number of people in Friar Gate at about 9.30pm on Saturday 28th March.
