Major structural repairs to Harrington Bridge which crosses the River Trent at Sawley will start in August, as part of Derbyshire County Council’s £70 million capital programme, which is delivering safer, stronger and more resilient highways and infrastructure across the county. The police have dropped all investigations into former Derby doctor Daniel Hay following his death, leaving his victims “failed and disheartened”. Former Derby doctor Daniel Hay, aged 61, from near Alfreton, died in April in the midst of criminal and NHS investigations into harm caused to hundreds of women over nearly 20 years. An Erewash Borough Council investigation into an HMO – house of multiple occupation – has seen its owner taken to court and ordered to pay £1,145 in fines and costs.
