CrossCountry advises customers to only travel if necessary due to extreme heat

CrossCountry is advising customers to only travel if necessary until Thursday 25th June due to the extreme heat warnings affecting large parts of England and Wales.

The train operator will also run a reduced service on some routes from Wednesday 24th to Thursday 25th June, and further disruption across the network is possible.

Those with tickets for travel on either Wednesday 24th June or Thursday 25th June can use their ticket at no extra cost to travel on earlier services on the same day. Alternatively, customers can travel on CrossCountry services on Friday 26th June.

Mark Anderson, Customer and Commercial Director at CrossCountry said: “Very hot weather is expected across much of the country over the next few days, which may affect some journeys. We’ll be running services, but there will be widespread disruption. Please take care in the heat by bringing water and staying hydrated, check your journey before you travel, and if you can, consider travelling at a cooler time or delaying your trip on Wednesday and Thursday.”
