05/04/2024: The Breaston May Day Gala will be held on Monday 6th May from 11am to 4pm.  Expect a packed day of events with lots of stalls and, weather permitting, a fly past from two Spitfires from the Lincolnshire-based Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Donations on the gate of £1 per person please for everyone aged over 12.  
12/03/2024: Farmers in landowners in Erewash are being asked if they wish to be part of a project to plant a community forest in Derbyshire.
04/03/2024: Breaston Parish Council are holding their May Day Gala on Monday 6th May,11.00am to 4.00pm. There will be a range of entertainment and stalls. The cost for a stall is £30. Breaston Community Forum are holding a yard sale on Sunday 19th May.

19/01/2024: An old gravel pit in Erewash has been honoured with an award backed by the King following its spectacular transformation into a woodland haven.
21/09/2023: Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of more than 50 drain covers in the county, many having been taken from locations in Erewash.
19/09/2023: Following a spate of drain cover thefts, the county council is asking residents to report any suspicious activity to the Police.
