Two arrested after teenager assaulted at house in Cotmanhay

Local Police Officers have been called out following the receipt of reports that two people had entered a house in Muskham Avenue, Cotmanhay, armed with a knife.

The incident, at around 8:30pm on 13th January led to a teenaged boy suffering a stab injury. He was taken to hospital but it is understood that he will make a full physical recovery.

A second man in his 20s suffered a minor slash wound from a knife on his hand. He is also expected to make a full physical recovery.

The two suspects left the scene in a vehicle that was spotted later in Ilkeston and failed to stop.

After a pursuit two people left the car in Pit Lane, Shipley, and ran off. One was detained quickly while the other ran into Shipley Park and, after being tracked by both a National Police Air Service plane and police dogs, was also detained.

Two teenaged boys aged 17 and 19 have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and remain in police custody.
