Cannabis grow dismantled in Long Eaton

Officers from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team have taken action after the discovery of a cannabis grow in the town.

On the 2nd April, entry was gained to a property on Walton Street in the town, despite what was described as a ‘high-tech’ security set up.

The installation was subsequently cleared.

A statement from Long Eaton SNT said: “Cannabis grows are extremely dangerous to any properties around.

“They are often well hidden in properties, creating serious risks not only from illegal activity but also from the fire hazards they pose.

“If you have any information that could help us detect a cannabis grow near you then please contact us via 101 or you can report online on the Derbyshire Constabulary website.

“We know that information held by our communities can help us to keep people safe from such crimes.

“We also know that our communities need to trust that we will listen to them and take action when we need to.”
