Long Eaton man jailed after vehicle stop, pursuit and criminal damage

A Long Eaton man has been jailed after what turned out to be a complex incident in the town centre earlier this year.

On 17th February 2026, police officers from the Derbyshire Constabulary Proactive Team and local Safer Neighbourhood Team attempted to stop a vehicle being driven by David Robinson.

The 31 year old failed to stop, leading to a pursuit in which damage was caused to a police vehicle.

Robinson was soon stopped and detained by officers and subsequently remanded in custody. He was also disqualified from driving for a further 3 years and 9 months on top of his custodial sentence.
