Derbyshire Police officials have issued a warning after reports were received of calls being made on the afternoon of Monday 26th October 2026, using a 'number spoofing' technique, whereby the fraudster changes the number displayed on people's phones when the call comes through. None of these calls - from a number starting with 01773 and ending in 215 - have been made from Derbyshire Police officers or staff. A new row has broken out over plans to make a “dangerous” Derby junction safer following serious accidents. Derbyshire becomes the first English county to introduce pioneering motorcyle safety markings

Derbyshire has become the first county in England to introduce pioneering road markings and signs designed to help motorcyclists navigate bends more safely. Rolls-Royce lands major engines deal from aircraft leasing firm

Rolls-Royce has secured a major deal to supply Trent engines to a global aircraft leasing company. The engineering giant, which has its civil aerospace division in Derby, has received an order for 70 Trent 7000 engines from Avolon to power 35 Airbus A330-900 aircraft. Derbyshire Police officer’s high-speed driving put lives at risk

The public were put at serious risk when a Derbyshire police officer drove a police car at high speed despite previous warnings about his driving. At a misconduct hearing, it was said that ex-acting sergeant Reece Froggatt’s manner of driving caused “close call” misses with motorists while investigating a bomb threat.
