Hedgerow Heroes celebrate nature restoration achievement

Regional charities Groundwork Five Counties and CPRE Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire have concluded their collaborative nature restoration project. The aim of the ‘Hedgerow Heroes’ project was to restore 2 kilometres of hedgerows, which they have surpassed with a total of 2.6km. 20-year planning blueprint for two East Midlands cities and counties

Work has started on a 20-year plan for new villages, towns, roads and city extensions across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Revealed: East Mids areas with the highest care home ratings as region takes 6th place in England

The local authorities across the East Midlands with the best performing care homes have been revealed, thanks to a new report from online training provider High Speed Training. The report, which analysed Care Quality Commission (CQC) data for over 13,500 care homes across England found that, in the East Midlands, 80.89% of care homes analysed were rated either good or outstanding, which places the region 6th in the national rankings. Alleged victims of a former, now late Derby doctor express hope for full scrutiny as only “justice”

The alleged victims of a former Derby doctor say their only hope of “justice” lies with full scrutiny of his decades of work, following his death. Northern appoints DFTO executive as new Chief Operating Officer

Northern, which runs regional rail services including those through Ilkeston Railway Station, has appointed Warrick Dent as its new Chief Operating Officer.
