Six East Midlands sites named in major push to unlock new homes and regeneration

The first six priority areas have been agreed as part of a regional push to unlock thousands of new homes, regenerate town and city centres, and support economic growth across the East Midlands. Many households worry about the high cost of energy bills, with another 4% Energy Price Cap increase from 1st October. East Midlands-based charity Groundwork Five Counties is giving out free energy-saving items such as electric blankets to help people stay warm at home and save money on their heating. Man in hospital after collision following chase

A man has suffered serious injuries following a collision during a police pursuit. Officers had been pursuing a Volkswagen Golf which had failed to stop on the A6007 in Heanor just after 12.15pm on Tuesday 8th September. As the Golf reached Hardy Barn in Shipley, travelling towards Ilkeston, it was in collision with a VW T-Cross travelling in the opposite direction.
