Fourth consecutive fall in East Midlands unemployment but Budget must reduce costs for employers

The region’s unemployment level has fallen to 4.7% but is still too high, East Midlands Chamber has said as it urged the Chancellor to ensure the Budget on 28th October brings down costs for employers and prioritises skills investment. More than 50 women have completed empowerment workshops co-designed by survivors of domestic abuse to protect them from becoming future victims. Prayers have been formally reintroduced to Derbyshire County Council’s constitution by Reform UK, despite opposition over the need to separate religion and government.
