Strict new deadlines are in place after a 12-year failure of Derbyshire NHS services saw hundreds of families not notified about potential blood disorders. Derbyshire County Council have made offers of infant, primary and junior school places to 10,067 children. The correspondence was sent on Thursday 16th April. Of those parents who applied for a reception place by the closing date, 93.57 per cent were offered their first preference school. Greater support needed to boost export says Chamber as national research shows falling orders among smaller businesses

East Midlands Chamber has renewed its call for increased support for exporters after new data showed a significant split in overseas orders based on business size. Micro-exporters and SMEs reported more falling than rising orders, while for larger firms the results were the other way round. The British Chambers of Commerce surveyed over 2000 exporters between February and March 2026, before the Middle East conflict.
