Changes planned for Derby’s Pentagon Island

Work is due to start to improve the appearance of one of Derby’s busiest roundabouts – and bringing back the “Derby In Bloom” display. Derby City Council and partners are working to transform the green area around Pentagon Island, which thousands of motorists pass by each day. Erewash mill flats plan set for rejection

The planned conversion of an historic Derbyshire mill is set for rejection due to the negative impact on a neighbouring business and flats being deemed too small. Bridge Mills, which faces the Erewash Canal off Derby Road and Bridge Street in Long Eaton, is the subject of plans to convert the former facility into 80 flats. Man charged in connection with Ilkeston robberies

A man has been charged in connection with two robberies in Ilkeston. Ashton Dellamonica has been charged with robbery in connection with incidents in Millership Way on 1st August and Monks Close on 11th July. He has also been charged with possession of a bladed article and possession of cannabis. The manager of a Derby pub is living in “constant” fear vehicles could crash into the beer garden due to safety concerns over a busy junction.
