Royal Derby heatwave struggles

Royal Derby Hospital had to ‘juggle’ its air conditioning abilities during recent heatwaves, prioritising those most in need, due to an unprecedented demand for energy. Unemployment in the East Midlands drops to summer 2025 level but skills investment needed

The East Midlands Chamber has welcomed a slight fall in the region’s unemployment from 5.6% to 5.2% but said skills support should be prioritised to further reduce the level and get suitable candidates into jobs. Three vehicle A52 crash sees seven people injured

Erewash Police officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a serious collision on the A52 Brian Clough Way. The incident at around 7:45pm on Monday 20th July involved a Ford Fiesta, Ford Transit and a Jaguar, on the westbound carriageway near Borrowash. Seven people were injured with two taken to hospital.
