Ockbrook-based Over The Wall Camp, the UK children’s charity supporting children and young people living with serious illness and their families, has announced a new charitable partnership with a Sussex-based family-run vineyard.

Abingworth Vineyard will support Over The Wall Camp through charitable donations from bottle sales, special-edition labelling, and sponsorship of a London fundraising event. The partnership brings together two organisations that share a belief in the importance of family, joy, community, and creating meaningful moments.

The company will start to donate a percentage of profits from bottle sales in 2027 to support Over The Wall Camp’s work, while specially labelled bottles will help raise awareness of the charity and its vital work.

Over The Wall Camp provides free, fun and inclusive residential camps for children and young people living with serious health challenges and disabilities, as well as their families. Through its camps, children can try new things, make friends, build confidence, and enjoy the magic and mischief of childhood in a safe, supportive environment.

The charity was founded by Hollywood actor and philanthropist Paul Newman, whose vision was to create a place where children facing serious health challenges could experience the freedom, adventure and joy of childhood. Newman’s family foundation continues to support the organisation and its important work.

Owners of the vineyard are following in the footsteps of the actor embracing the idea that a food and beverage business can use its success to make a positive difference. Family values are at the heart of operations overseen by four sisters and their parents.

Founder, Chris Stedman said: “We are extremely proud to support Over The Wall Camp because of the incredible work they do for young people and families. What Over The Wall Camp achieves is inspiring, helping families to find relief and respite through their residential camps and experiences. We recognise the value of family and we are delighted to be able to continue supporting those who need it most through Over The Wall Camp.”

Anna Wall-Budden, Director of Development at Over The Wall Camp expressed delight in welcoming the family-run business as a partner. She said: “Their strong family values and commitment to community make this a particularly meaningful collaboration.

“The support raised through the partnership will help us continue to provide a safe space for children and families to experience joy, laughter, fun and unforgettable memories.”
