18-year old arrested on weapon and drugs offences

An 18-year old man has been arrested in Ilkeston on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and possession of class A drugs.

On Monday 24th August 2026, a Derbyshire Police call-handler received a call from a member of the public raising concerns that a male seen in on Bath Street appeared to be in possession of a weapon.

Officers from the Ilkeston Safer Neighbourhood Team swiftly arrived on scene, located the suspect and detained him for a search.

The male was arrested and has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
