05/02/2010: The local First Responders Group are seeking volunteers. Organised by the Church Wilne Rotary Club and trained by the East Midlands Ambulance Service, volunteers are equipped with and trained on the use of essential medical equipment to be able to respond early to localised calls for help before paramedics arrive. To set up the new group, the Rotary Club will raise funds for the kit required. For more information, contact Colin Orrick on Derby 666865.
05/02/2010: The 4th Ilkeston Scout Group holds activities at Christ Church Hall on Vicarage Street, Cotmanhay, every Wednesday during term time. A number of adult volunteering opportunities are available whilst supporting Beavers (aged 6-8) from 5:30pm - 6:30pm, Cubs (aged 8-10) from 6:45pm - 8:15pm and Scouts (aged 10-14) from 7:30pm - 9:00pm. 26/01/2010: The Ockash Trust is a registered charity set up to help young people from Ockbrook and Borrowash. To apply, you must be under the age of 21, and be from either of the two villages. The Trust awards grants of money for health, education and in some cases recreational purposes. If you know a young person who benefit - why not put them in touch with the Ockash Trust? Money could help towards buying sports equipment or clothing, a piece of equipment or change of environment for someone suffering from a health condition, musical instruments or equipment, dance and drama facilities or educational trips abroad.
