The police have dropped all investigations into former Derby doctor Daniel Hay following his death, leaving his victims “failed and disheartened”. Former Derby doctor Daniel Hay, aged 61, from near Alfreton, died in April in the midst of criminal and NHS investigations into harm caused to hundreds of women over nearly 20 years. Body found during search for missing man

A body believed to be that of a missing Little Eaton man publicly named only as 'David' has been found. Officers made the discovery on the evening of Saturday 25th July. The 80-year-old’s family have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers. A statement from Derbyshire Constabulary said: "Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time." There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances. A file is being prepared for the coroner.

Arrest made for drug and knife offences in Long Eaton

Police officers from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team have taken action after spotting a young male on a bike who was loitering and acting suspiciously on Wilsthorpe Road. On Monday 13th July, offices went to speak to the male who then tried to make off, but after a brief tussle, he was detained for a stop-search under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. Derbyshire Police officers are continuing to stop e-scooter riders and seize their vehicles after they have been seen being used illegally, as highlighted in a video featuring two recent stops made by the force's bikes team. Joint investigation launched after Ilkeston property fire

A joint police and fire investigation into a derelict building fire on Heanor Road in Ilkeston has concluded the most probable cause to be deliberate. Investigators believe the fire most likely started when a naked flame came into contact with combustible materials.
