Appeal for information launched following road rage incident in Ilkeston

Police officers in Erewash are appealing for information following a road rage incident in Ilkeston in which a man was assaulted.

A black BMW and a white Range Rover were involved in a collision in Chalons Way at about 5:50pm on Saturday 1st August.

Witnesses described how a man driving the BMW then got out of the vehicle and assaulted a man driving the Range Rover.

The victim, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital to be treated for swelling and bruising to his face.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault GBH, dangerous driving and failing to stop after a road accident.

He has been released on conditional bail.

There were reportedly multiple incidents of road rage involving the two vehicles prior to the collision.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for any witnesses to please come forward, and are also keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV, dash cam or mobile phone footage of the incident and has not already spoken to officers.
