Derby City Council has launched a nine-week public consultation on proposals to tighten the planning rules around converting shared properties.
Derbyshire Constabulary is supporting a national campaign urging dog walkers to keep their pets safe and under control around livestock.
A new regional fostering hub for the East Midlands has been launched. The collaboration between councils in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire has been made possible after the D2N2 authorities secured £1.626m in government funding.
Discover dragons, workshops, puppet shows and the family retelling of St George at a free family-friendly event in Derby city centre. Add in a spot of knight training and a few roaming dragons and you can be sure there will be lots of fun for all the family to enjoy.

The Bulls Head in Denby is holding a fundraising event on Monday 1st April in aid of a local boy Elliott, who has spina bifida and in need of equipment that is not being funded by the NHS.
An appeal has been issued for raffle prizes to help raise those runds. Please contact Leighann Warsop - landlady on 07951 260101 if you can assist.
The event will run from 12noon to 4pm and will include rides, stalls, food and much more ihcluding a kids disco from 12noon to 1pm which is a ticket only event at £5 per child but including a drink for each child, the disco itself and a character meet and greet, festival glitter, plus priority access to stalls.
The event will be held at The Bulls Head Public House, Denby Common, Ripley. DE5 8PW
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) East Midlands is reminding families and visitors to the East Midlands of the simple steps they can take to make sure they enjoy visits to farms and petting zoos safely.

From Monday 22nd April, up to 250 households in Derby will be able to book a free bulky waste collection for up to three items on a first come, first serve basis. The free collections are the realisation of a key manifesto pledge made by the administration with the free collections being approved in November 2023.
