Officials within Derbyshire Constabulary have issued a statement after social media posts were brought to their attention, linked to a national trend, locally, referencing schools in Derby and encouraging violence between students.

Officers have been working closely with the schools that have been mentioned, with proactive patrols having been deployed during the end of the first week in March 2026, and with continual monitoring over the weekend to identify and deal with any potential issues. There is no information to suggest that there is any risk.

However, a statement moved to clarify that local Police officers understand the worry that the social media posts have created and pledged to continue with patrols, specifically in Derby City, it said, and in the coming days to offer further reassurance.

Police officers across the rest of the county have been in contact with schools in their areas to provide reassurance and there is also no information to suggest any risk in the wider area.

Derbyshire Police officers urge parents and guardians in both the city and wider county to speak to their young people and ensure they are aware of not to be involved in any incidents and the risks involved.
