Millions of pounds have been allocated to help “kickstart” big plans to transform the area surrounding Derby railway station. A new report says investment of £3.5m has been allocated to Derby on city centre projects, including an “initial focus” on developing its plans for the “Station Quarter”. Transformative city flood defence project progresses at pace

Work is progressing at pace on a project to bolster Derby’s flood defences and unlock the potential for more regeneration. Arrests made following raids on businesses in Nottingham under people smuggling investigation

Two men have been arrested following a series of raids by the National Crime Agency in Kent and the East Midlands, as part of an investigation into a criminal network suspected of smuggling people into the UK in boats.
