A joint police and fire investigation into a derelict building fire on Heanor Road in Ilkeston has concluded the most probable cause to be deliberate. Investigators believe the fire most likely started when a naked flame came into contact with combustible materials. Derbyshire Police officers are appealing for information following two robberies in Ilkeston that are believed are linked. The first incident happened when the victim was approached by a man as he walked past a block of flats in Chalons Way at about 10:05pm on Sunday 31st May. Police officers in Long Eaton have identified a motorist who was driving despite being disqualified. The stop of the Ford Mondeo on 1st June in the area, resulted in a vehicle and roadside check being carried out. Derbyshire Police officers continue to seize illegal scooters on county roads, with 31 escooters confiscated in April - the equivalent of one taken off the streets every day. A Police patrol in Ilkeston led to the seizure of a vehicle which had been seen being driven in a suspicious manner.
