Derbyshire Police officials have written to alert system subscribers with licensed premises or PubWatch Schemes to share information and support ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, taking place between 11th June and 19th July 2026. Patients waiting for autism assessments in Derbyshire are facing some of the longest waits in the country. Although backlogs and demand for autism spectrum assessments are issues across the country and certainly not isolated to Derbyshire, the county’s experts see themselves significantly on the back foot. A record £60m investment to improve Derbyshire roads

Derbyshire County Council has invested a record £60 million in highways across the county over the past year. The investment is funding the council’s annual capital programme, including major long-term preventative maintenance designed to extend the lifespan of Derbyshire’s highways network. Work completed and under way includes micro-asphalting, full road resurfacing, surface dressing, slurry sealing and pavement repairs, alongside landslip repairs, bridge works, drainage improvements and road-safety schemes. Arrests made following raids on businesses in Nottingham under people smuggling investigation

Two men have been arrested following a series of raids by the National Crime Agency in Kent and the East Midlands, as part of an investigation into a criminal network suspected of smuggling people into the UK in boats. Work has started on a 20-year plan for new villages, towns, roads and city extensions across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
