Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service (DFRS) has published a document celebrating the Service’s key achievements and data from the last financial year.

The report, titled 'Our Year 2022/23' has been produced in the form of an infographic which sets out the Service’s performance, financial position, incident and response data, prevention and protection activity, LGBT+ and Inclusion activity in addition to collaboration successes and the Service’s awards and recognition.

Derbyshire’s Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive Gavin Tomlinson KSM said: “2022/23 was another busy year for Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service, one which saw heavier rainfall and prolonged heatwaves lead to increased demand on our services. Despite the challenges this presented, our employees once again came together to continue Making Derbyshire Safer Together.

“During the year, we responded to 7,175 emergency incidents as well as carrying out 1,001 fire safety audits, more than 15,300 safe and well checks to those most vulnerable to the risk of fire. We also made 2,271 adult and children at risk referrals to our partners and delivered 115 Firesafe interventions to young people identified as being involved in fire play or fire setting.

“These are just some of the highlights of 'Our Year 2022/23’ and I recommend everyone takes a couple of minutes to view the document and understand the breadth of work carried out by Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service, some in collaboration with partners.”
