On Sunday 21st April, at the National Tramway Museum, Crich Tramway Village, Crich, Derbyshire, the Robert Whetstone 1/8 scale Kinver Light Railway open-sided single-deck tramcar No 50, will be running for the first time in over 35 years and there will also be a static display of his other model trams.
This is a model of a 1902 tramcar built by the Brush Electrical Engineering Co. mounted on Type B maximum traction trucks. Three tramcars of this type were built for use on the Kinver Light Railway and because of their open structure they were only used in the summer months until the line closed in 1930. The model was completed in August 1975 and took over 3500 hours to build.
The National Tramway Museum is currently looking after a collection of model trams made during the 1960s and 1970s by the late Robert Whetstone of Bromsgrove.
