05/02/2010: A DVD capturing the history of Little Eaton is now available for purchase from Gaskins Newsagents. 'Little Eaton - The Little Town by the Water' traces how development was encouraged by the local water source, with a watchful eye on early industry. Copies cost £9 each with all proceeds going towards cancer charities. The DVD has been produced by a small group of residents working under the banner of Woodside Studio Productions.

05/02/2010: The Community Response Plan for Civil Emergencies is a confidential document listing individuals in a specific area who have skills that could be utilised in the event of a civil emergency. Every parish, town and city in the UK should have such a plan in place. The parish council clerk, Sam Cheshire, is updating the plan for Breaston and asks that any of the following who would be agreeable to being named on the Breaston list, contact her with their details.

05/02/2010: The local First Responders Group are seeking volunteers. Organised by the Church Wilne Rotary Club and trained by the East Midlands Ambulance Service, volunteers are equipped with and trained on the use of essential medical equipment to be able to respond early to localised calls for help before paramedics arrive. To set up the new group, the Rotary Club will raise funds for the kit required. For more information, contact Colin Orrick on Derby 666865.
