Long Eaton United manager Ian Deakin has issued a 'retained' list as the club prepares for its debut season in the Northern Premier League East Division following promotion as champions of the United Counties Premier Division North last season.

Blues forward Ben Hutchinson has agreed to continue training with the squad during pre-season, although currently, the experienced attacker is unsure as to whether work and family commitments will impact his ability to travel to away fixtures. He is expected to continue talks and work with the squad ahead of the 2022/23 season to ensure his fitness levels remain strong.
Ian Deakin’s aim is to keep the close-knit group together and strengthen with a few additional players in various positions in order to help challenge within the Northern Premier League. Officials at Grange Park have recently been expectedly unsuccessful in an appeal to the FA over placing in the East Division rather than Midlands. The placing means longer journeys to away games than would have been the case otherwise. The Blues boss made his first signing earlier this month as Rod Orlando-Young put pen to paper.
The club has publicly thanked players that have since departed Long Eaton United FC but helped massively during their title-winning season – and wished them well in any future endeavours.
