Chamber responds to city boundary change decisions in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire

Following Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) decisions announced in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, East Midlands Chamber has given its reaction. Decisions were reached after consultation periods took place in each of the three cities and counties. New unitary councils are expected to begin delivering services from April 2028. Millions in transport funding for Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire good for growth says Chamber

The East Midlands Chamber has welcomed £298m of funding approved by the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) Board on 8th June, aimed at modernising transport in the cities and counties of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derby and Derbyshire. Nearly £300m of funding for transport improvements has been approved by the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) Board. Arrests made following raids on businesses in Nottingham under people smuggling investigation

Two men have been arrested following a series of raids by the National Crime Agency in Kent and the East Midlands, as part of an investigation into a criminal network suspected of smuggling people into the UK in boats. Work has started on a 20-year plan for new villages, towns, roads and city extensions across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
