Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team set the next quarterly policing priorities

Proposals include those relating to youth related anti-social behaviour and crime targeting businesses and residents within Long Eaton and surrounding areas, road safety - including targeting drivers using their vehicles in an Anti-social manner, and carrying out enforcement action against owners of dogs which are concluded to be dangerously out of control in a public place.

Specifically,

• Youth related Anti-Social behaviour and crime targeting businesses and residents within Long Eaton and surrounding areas
  • continue to review incident reports and visits to local businesses to identify hot spot locations.
  • carry out a mixture of high visibility and plain clothes patrols in hot spot areas to identify suspects and deter criminal activitIes
  • co-ordinate a multi-agency approach to deal with individuals identified, which will include education, warnings or prosecution.
     
• Road Safety, including targeting drivers using their vehicles in an Anti-social manner.
  • continue work with Community Speed Watch volunteers and the community to identify hot spot areas.
  • continue proactive patrols to reduce the risk of casualties by drivers who commit offences known as the 'fatal Five' -
    • careless driving,
    • drink and drug driving,
    • no seatbelt,
    • using mobile phones,
    • speeding.
  • issue Section 59 warnings and seize vehicles of repeat offenders under S165 of the Road Traffic Act when drivers have been - identified for driving in an anti-social manner.
     
• Enforcement against owners of dogs which are dangerously out of control in a public place.
  • continue to review incident reports and conduct regular patrols around local parks to identify hotspot areas.
  • work with partner agencies when individuals have been identified.
  • issue Voluntary Control Order (VCO) and consider prosecution of Individuals who have been identified as repeat offenders or for incidents involving serious injury.
