An Ilkeston brother and sister have completed a mission to scale Mam Tor in Castleton in the Peak District to raise money for charity.

9-year old Archer and 5-year old Gracie, who attend Chaucer Junior and Infant Schools respectively, set off on 21st February to begin their fundraising expedition in aid of Ben's Den.

Their parents, Hayley Shelton and Nathan Hill, set up a Just Giving page to gather support, and on the day of the trip to North Derbyshire, plotted activities and experiences by sharing videos and pictures along the way.

Ben’s Den is a local charity set up in memory of Ben Parker who sadly passed away aged 13 in 2003 following a battle with leukaemia. The aim of the charity is to support the families of children fighting leukaemia or cancer by gifting them a free caravan holiday and allowing them to spend much needed quality family time together away from the overwhelming hospital environment.

Tracey Parker of the charity said: "It's such a lovely thing for them to do."

Archer and Gracie joined Paul Stacey on the Erewash Sound Breakfast Show on Monday 19th February.  You can hear their chat with Paul on our Listen Again Service.
