The main Derby and Derbyshire website for advice and information on emotional health and wellbeing has added a range of new pages about Neurodiversity, just in time for the year’s biggest awareness event around mental health.

The Derby and Derbyshire Emotional Health and Wellbeing website –  derbyandderbyshireemotionalhealthandwellbeing.uk – has launched the new pages to ensure that families who are concerned about their child’s development, or who are currently going through a neurodevelopmental assessment process for their child, can find out about the different sources of information and assistance available for conditions like autism and ADHD in one central location.

The pages have been co-produced in partnership with clinical psychologists, parent and carers forums, Derbyshire Autism Services and relevant community groups who have quality assured the content.  The information has been published to coincide with World Mental Health Day, which takes place each year on 10 October.

Developed in partnership with local organisations including NHS Derby and Derbyshire CCG, Derbyshire County Council, and local voluntary agencies such as CVS, the emotional health and wellbeing website now offers information for an even wider range of different groups, in addition to the information already available for children and young people, parents/carers, health and care professionals and those who are in crisis and/or need emotional health and wellbeing support.

GP and Clinical Lead for Children and Young People, Dr Jonathan Hickinbothan said: “We’re excited to launch these new pages on the Derby and Derbyshire emotional health and wellbeing website, as they bring together all things neuro-diverse in one place.  There is lots of information right there on the site, and a comprehensive set of links to other organisations and agencies that can help. I really hope people check out the site and find it useful.”

Further general wellbeing information for adults will also go live on the website later this month.
