A combined operation between local Police, Fire Service, County Council and Immigration officials has been carried out in and around Ilkeston as part of day of activities.
The sweep took place on 26th May in a bid to help make the town a safer place in which to live and work and involved local Safer Neighbourhood Team officers along with a sniffer dog.
A number of shops were temporarily closed due to illegal activity taking place with illicit cigarettes, cash seizures and with some questionable electrics being found.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue also issued a notice on a flat so it cannot legally be used to sleep in until remedial works are completed.
