Matinee is an invitation to people living with dementia (and their carers) to get involved in something free, creative and inspiring from the safety and comfort of their own home.

You only need a telephone and a letterbox to take part in a scheme with team of skilled artists who will invite you to explore creative writing, crafts or visual arts, combined with a regular phone call and living conversation to keep you active and focused from home.

Professional artists are experienced in working with people living with dementia.  They will chat to find topics and themes to play with creatively - you'll be surprised at what happens next!

Feedback from the first projects:

  • "You've made her feel special and interesting"
  • "This has re-lit my fire for looking at things and doing things"
  • "I cannot thank you enough for what you are doing with my Mum"
  • "What you are doing is truly amazing"

The project offers EIGHT regular sessions including working one-to-one with one artist.  Sessions are now available having commenced in September 2021.  They will run until March 2022.
