Motorcyclist named after road accident in Breadsall - Police appeal for information

A man who died in a collision on the A608 at Breadsall has been named.

The collision, involving a Honda motorcycle and BMW 1 Series car happened at 10.20am on Tuesday 13th June at the junction of Brookside Road and the A608.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. He has now been named as Ryan Birtles, who was from Derby.

The driver of the BMW, a man in his 20s from the Matlock area, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing and detectives would still like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident – in particular anyone driving in the area with dashcam footage.
