Long Eaton Police officers have pledged to be present in hotspots where reports have suggested road traffic contraventions are being committed by drivers in the town during peak time rush hour.

In a statement published on social media, reference was made to particular issues around Wilsthorpe Island, potentially putting other road users at risk.

There was acknowledgement of ongoing difficulties with traffic in the area, contributed to by roadworks currently in place, but Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team officers said that drivers must still adhere to the rules of the road and pledged to stop and ticket drivers who break the law if deemed appropriate.

The statement asked drivers to take care whilst using the roads in and around Long Eaton and report any dangerous or careless driving to Derbyshire Police on 101 or on-line.
