06/02/2010: Erewash Community Transport (ECT) is a door-to-door service in which passengers are collected from and returned to the front door. Passengers using wheelchairs can be easily accommodated. Vehicles have tail-lifts fitted and drivers are fully trained to ensure passengers travel in safety and comfort. ECT is an independent registered charity, which operates Dial-a-Bus on behalf of Derbyshire County Council.
06/02/2010: Dell Badminton Club is seeking new members. The group meets every Wednesday at West Hallam Community Centre, Station Road, from 8:00pm-10:00pm. For more details, contact club secretary Sue Selby on 0115 930 6742 or just turn up on a Wednesday.
06/02/2010: The 10th Ilkeston Scouts are on the look out for new leaders. The troupe meets once a week at The Bartram Centre in Stanley Common, firstly with Beavers from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on Mondays. Cubs meet on Thursdays from 6:30pm to 8:00pm and Scouts meet on the Mondays from 6:30pm to 7:30pm and on Fridays from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. You don't need to be experienced to lead, so if you're interested in taking on a new challenge, contact Georgina Halford on 0115 932 2423 for further information.
06/02/2010: Delighted allotment holders at Stanley now have a new on-site 'HQ' for their meetings, thanks to a bumper £690 grant from Erewash Borough Council's Voluntary and Community Fund. Stanley Gardeners Association successfully applied for the money to fund the much-needed shed - and had the cashpot boosted by a further £200 thanks to a grant from Councillor Carol Hart, the Council's deputy leader and Lead Member for Community Services.
06/02/2010: The Long Eaton & District Branch of the Parkinsons Disease Society meets between 2:00pm and 4:00pm twice every month with a branch meeting held on the last Thursday and a less formal 'social' meeting on the second Thursday. Meetings of this branch of the registered charity take place at the Sandiacre & District Conservative Club, Moorfield Crescent, Sandiacre, this being a cul-de-sac off Woodside Road. A large car park is available, and transport can be provided if required by calling Frank Kirk on 0115 973 3579, allowing four days to arrange. The Branch offers companionship, comfort and support to those with Parkinsons and their carers.
06/02/2010: The Sandiacre Walking For Health group meets every Friday outside Doncaster Avenue's Library at 10:15am. The group takes short walks over flat terrain, which last for up to an hour. 06/02/2010: Please find listed below the Safer Neighbourhood team meeting dates for Sandiacre during June. Meetings can be defined as: Street briefings are short, open-air briefings about local crime figures and community initiatives. Police surgeries are drop-in sessions allowing residents to meet their local officers, ask questions about neighbourhood policing or share any concerns they may have. Neighbourhood Panel meetings allow the public to raise and discuss any issues or problems within the area. The local policing priorities for the next three months will also be set during this consultation.
06/02/2010: Borrowbrook Home Link - a local charity which helps pensioners to continue living in their own homes - is looking for new sources of funding. The charity has been operating in Ockbrook and Borrowash on a five year budget which lasts until March 2009. A recent annual general meeting heard that more money was needed at a time of changing priorities for national funding streams, with reference given to the money being given to the London 2012 Olympics and the increasing difficulties being experienced in justifying applications to the Big Lottery Fund.

05/02/2010: Residents of the Long Eaton area who are struggling with issues such as debt and bankruptcy are to be helped after a local charity extended coverage into the area. Citizens Advice Bureau, based in South Street, Ilkeston, has now opened an outreach office at Dovedale Primary School,
