Some of the Erewash Sound presenters will, at the second attempt, be walking from Ilkeston to Long Eaton to raise money for your local radio station!   The team had originally planned to put their best feet forward on 23rd December, but circumstances beyond their control meant the event had to be rearranged.

You won't be able to miss the presenters - Anjelica, JeannieLucy, Amy and producer Saf - when they do set off, as they will be dressed in their Erewash Sound jackets and other (warm) attire, cheering people up from the Winter Blues on their trip from Ilkeston to Long Eaton Town Centre. It will be a fantastic (yet, acceptably tiring) day.

The walk will be on the morning of Saturday 3rd February 2024. Keep an eye on our website, socials (Facebook, X, Instagram and Threads @erewashsound) for more details on the trio's route so that you can cheer them on and support them along the way.

LATEST: They are due to begin at The U-Choose Smoothie Bar on Bath Street at 9:30am and expect to arrive to meet Ian and Richard, with our roadshow vehicle Melody, in the Long Eaton Market Place at around 12noon.

Erewash Sound has a track record for nurturing success, with 26 people so-far having left for roles in the media industry – we're proud but not surprised; you can get training elsewhere, but what they can offer is a real 24-hour FM radio station to get real experience.

The organisation is a not-for-profit community interest company, with over 40 regular volunteers, supported by two part-time employed roles to coordinate and develop a considerable number of radio station activities.

Every donation is greatly appreciated. Since the pandemic, Erewash Sound has suffered from a serious lack of funding. Many of our potential advertisers are struggling due to the cost of living crisis, which has impacted negatively on the funding for the station.

Hopefully, you will spot the walkers on their journey and you can give them a wave!

Any donations are appreciated no matter how big or small - please click here to donate. Thank you.
